Adding Borders to Labels

Adding Borders to Labels

Comments

  • Good Morning!

I have a form that I would like to style differently. I am happy with most of the form but would like to add borders to each mapped label as well as remove the gray shading over the checkboxes.

Could you please point me to the training docs that explain this? I went through the CSS documents but it seems to change my entire form and not just the fields desired.

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

Yes I have an approval form going over to management for review and the data value is kind of just floating on the page. If I could set borders over certain labels that would be great.
Is it possible to view the behind scenes coding controlling the esthetic appearance of the form I created? It was created through decision but not using a preset CSS Class.
So its advisable that you try to stay away from CSS unless you know what youre doing because things could get out of hand quickly.
For example, if you want something resembling a border around your selected labels, you could replace them with text boxes and set them to disabled.
But if you want to use CSS, you can try making some custom classes. Ive included an example in a text file.

In the example, you can find some custom classes. If it were a CSS document, it could be uploaded to System > Designers > CSS like any other CSS doc. Then on a form it could be selected as a Style Sheet for a form, and then I could apply those custom classes to a control.

The IMPORTANT thing to note is that you carefully name your custom classes so as not to override any default Decisions CSS.

  • Understood. I was under the impression that if I wanted to make any cosmetic changes I had to use CSS. The text box option seems like a much simpler process, but will I still have the ability to map value data from form 1 into the textbox on the form in question?

  • Yes. The textbox is still a control that you can map data into. Setting it to Disabled" simply keeps it from being interacted with when displayed. You can even pass the data out of it too.

To make the change even simpler
