Excel data/forms and Decisions

  • We are going to import the data from an excel spreadsheet into Decisions and I have a couple of questions…

Can we import the data if the spreadsheet is protected by a password?
Is it possible to print to pdf a form that is contained within the spreadsheet within Decisions?

    Regards.

  • Hi Richard,
When you say protected by a password do you mean using the protect sheet option in excel with a password? If so, then yes. Decisions can still import data from this spreadsheet.

We dont have a step that converts a form inside a spreadsheet to a pdf. However, if the data is in a cell that can be referenced, you can import it into Decisions. We have steps that allow you to fill in data to form fields on a pdf, but you would need to set up the pdf with editable fields external to Decisions to do this.

Let me know if you have any additional questions about this.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately the requirement is to print a form within the excel due to its specific layout. So, what are the other possible options to achieve this? Plug-in some .NET code, which will do this, or connect to a third party web service? Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Regards.

  • Within the spreadsheet we need to upload to Decisions, there are some values which need to be extracted (we can do that fine) and a sheet that has been laid out as a form (there are some legal wording etc on the form), which needs to be converted to a PDF. The business has stated that we should use this form and not recreate something new which is supported natively by Decisions. Make sense? So, as Josiah stated there is no flows to do this, so I’m trying to work out what would be the best was to implement this.
