Saving Email object in Database

Hi,
Wanted to check I am reading Emails from IMAP and wanted to store that in Decisions….I see I can used “Email” as datatype to store this which stores it as Binray looks like but not sure if that can be retrieved easily.
Is there any other built in utlity or have you come across something similar that you can suggest?
Thanks.

We have a dataobject called a fileReference that can save the fileData object as a file on the application servers filesystem. This would be the most straighforward way to save this byte[].
This document describes one of their usecases

Looks like the problem is to save the Email as Binary itself as I am not able to read that back.
As per your suggestion If I try to Store Email as File object, “Email” is not able to get store as File. My Objective is to fetch the emails off Outlook(email server) and store them locally/Database to view later.

Was there ever any further solutions to this? We are having similar issues/concerns?

Hi, we do not have any steps for retrieving emails as a file or modifying/displaying email file types directly. We do support storing, sending, moving, or renaming these files. If you can get a proprietary email file into a flow, it can be saved as a FileReference Entity, Document, or in any FileData property of a database-stored type. We do have an Email type that is returned from IMAP get steps, and this type can also be used as a property of user-defined types. It is common to include the sender, recipient, body, and attachments as properties of a user-defined type instead of reading from proprietary email files.

We have a create text file step that can take the HTML string of the email body and save it as a text file on the filesystem. There are also steps(Convert string to Byte[]) to convert strings to byte[] so we could leverage other storage patterns if needed.

Hey, I understand your problem that you want to store your email message attachment in your local system. It may very useful task for so many people who wants to save or download their email attachments form emails for personal reasons or just want to maintain attachments in a more organized and secure way.
A better way to answer this question is you can use two methods. Every method that Ill tell you is based on my personal experience so dont get offended by my opinion. The first method is the Manual method. I know its a free method but it has some disadvantages that are very complicated, hard to understand, and very time-consuming. So Ill suggest you use a professional tool for saving or downloading your email attachments. You can use the Softaken IMAP Attachment Extractor tool which is a very potent and efficient utility for extracting Attachments from the IMAP server.
Here is a step-by-step procedure for saving your email attachments form IMAP based Email server Using the IMAP Attachment downloader tool:
Install this program by downloading it from the official website.
then open, and authenticate yourself with your log-in credentials
Select your specific folder, such as Inbox, draught, important, sent mail, spam, etc. after successfully verifying yourself.
Select the file type from the attachments that you want to export and click next.
At the very end, select your location and then press the "Export attachments now" button.
Howdy, Stranger!
