Information on multi series line chart

I'm hoping to create a multi series line chart where I have months going across the bottom, totals going up the side, and then each line in the chart is a year. Just struggling with how to how to configure the groupings, how to set up the data so the chart pulls it.

You can create a multi series line chart by creating a chart with groupings or calculated totals. You can enable a secondary series in the properties panel.
