Hello!
Im planning to upgrade from Decisions Version 4 to Decisions Versions 6. What would be best practice here?

We recommend installing the most recent version of Decisions as it will have all of our current features and hotfixes available. Our standard upgrade practice is as follows:- Set up a testing environment on the new version

• Simulate production on this environment
• Perform regression testing
• Take a backup of your decisions database and other external databases
• Take a backup of your File Storage location if its on the app server (Back up the entire app server file system, if that is an option)
• Upgrade the system by following the below documentation link

When upgrading across major versions of Decisions, we recommend making incremental upgrades (ie. from 4.x to 5.x, then from 5.x to 6.x etc.). This will ensure that we pick up any major changes between versions.

As an upgrade path, our recommendation would be to upgrade from your version of 4.x to the most recent version of 5.x, then from 5.x to the most recent version of 6.x.

In between upgrades we also advise that you perform regression testing on any major designer elements or custom modules in your Decisions environment to ensure that your projects are working as intended as there are many changes that can occur between major versions.

Below we’ve included some notable changes between versions 4.x and 6.x as well as a link to additional information on Version 6.

-There were modifications made to the Account Type. The "Allowed IP Addresses" field was removed after v4 from the Accounts type. Replaced with "Permitted IP ----Addresses" and changed to hidden.
-Auto-complete boxes on forms stopped accepting inputs from V4 to newer versions.
