Can Schedule Data be created in a Flow?

Comments

  • I was following this documentation on Schedule Data, but I realized that I didnt know how to create Schedule Data from a flow - I can only do this manually from the Studio.
I can access and read Schedule Data from a flow, just not create or modify it from a flow.

Can you confirm if there is any way to create this data from a flow?

I want to use this feature to ensure that certain events are not booked for the same time-slot.

This may be because Schedule Data is an older feature that did not receive additional development beyond its current state.

With that said, you can achieve the same functionality with even greater flexibility by creating a custom data structure. This way you can emulate the functionality of Schedule Data, but also have the freedom to extend/ tailor the custom structure and its surrounding processes to your specific needs.

As a purely educational example to demonstrate the flexibility of this approach, you could even go as far as to create a custom structure, lets say an Entity structure, that is a near perfect copy of Schedule Data:

And then you can perform all basic CRUD actions on any object created of this type, by finding the steps unique to this type in the Flow Designer toolbox.
You can then create/read/update/delete objects of this new "mock" Schedule Data type from a flow:
