Does anyone know the correct way to dynamically select the default tab for a tab container to display when a page loads?

I have a home page with some diagram tiles and want to set it up so that the diagram tile can be used to open the secondary page with the default tab as one of two values depending on one of the values displayed on the diagram tile.

unfortunately, we can not navigate to a specific tab on a page from a different page.
