Default SMTP Settings

Default SMTP Settings

• When sending emails from within flows in Decisions, I have been using the Default SMTP Settings option:

Where are the default SMTP settings stored? Is that what is set up within the settings.xml file on the server, or is it stored elsewhere? I ask because our corporate IT group is wanting us to switch to Office 365 for SMTP, and it requires authentication and SSL.

• The Default SMTP settings will take the settings from the Decisions Installer.
In the Installer, click on Edit Settings -> Expand the Mail section and SMTP server. Here, you can define the Default SMTP settings.

• That resolves my question about the default settings. Thank you.
Is there a way to query the database to determine all flow steps that utilize a particular “From” email address and update them to a different email address?
I haven’t found one, but I don’t want to have to change all of the send email / notification steps manually—there are a lot of those!

• Unfortunately theres no way of updating this through the database.
You can use the "Flow Structure" report under System > Administration > Flow Management to filter by step name to help find the flows that use this step.

And if this is something you think might change again in the future, Id suggest creating a system constant for the from email address so that you can make the change in one place.
