How to update Decisions SMTP settings for Exchange Online as Basic Auth is retired in 2026

We received a notice that Exchange Online will retire Basic Auth for Client Submission (SMTP AUTH) starting March 1st, 2026 (Microsoft announcement). Our Decisions environment currently uses SMTP authentication with several accounts. What changes should we make to ensure continued email functionality after Basic Auth is retired?

Configure OAuth authentication for your SMTP settings in Decisions.

Set up an OAuth provider and token for your Microsoft account.

Update the Settings.xml file in Decisions with the new OAuth parameters.

Restart the Decisions service to apply the changes.
