Protecting a Decisions Server from Malware
When a document is uploaded into Decisions through a workflow, is there any native scan that happens to ensure its not malicious?
Decisions does not have a native method for scanning an uploaded file for malware prior to full upload. However, there are other methods to protect a Decisions instance.
Restricting File Extensions
One method of doing so is restricting some file extensions from being able to upload. This is done by navigating to portal settings in the settings section. Once here, navigate to Globalization Settings > File Extensions. Here you can blacklist file extensions to limit what types of files may be uploaded to a project.
Integrate External Antivirus Software
In addition to limiting file extensions, external antivirus software can be installed. This will be able to scan documents for malware more effectively and provide that native scan that is not natively provided. This can be done in the installation menu.
