I am about the process of exporting some projects from my Production Environment to my Development Environment for testing purposes. Will this have any affect on my production environment?

Depending on the size of the project there could be an impact on performance, but otherwise exporting a project from your Production environment to your Dev. environment won’t cause any harm to your production environment.
