Moving Lookup Lists and Constants to Production

Hello, I was wondering what the recommended way to move lookup lists and constant to Production is? I know how to push them but if I set up the constants to reflect production and then when I add new constants for a new file, when I go to push the constants again to get the new items to production it overrides the value that I have set for existing constants in production. I have the same issue with the SQL connection string. Is their a way to only push new items?
